Conceived by brothers Lorcan and Fin Spiteri, sons of esteemed restaurateur Jon Spiteri, this intimate venue marries the charm of canal-side dining with the finesse of a chef-led kitchen. Inside, the ambiance is both romantic and refined, featuring polished wooden floors, crisp white tablecloths, and the soft glow of cabaret lamps. The décor is thoughtfully accented with whimsical stained-glass portholes, adding a touch of playful elegance to the setting. The menu, curated by Lorcan Spiteri, reflects a seasonal British-European bistro ethos, emphasising simplicity and flavour. Signature dishes such as the caviar-topped potato rösti and the duck-shaped croquette with wild garlic aioli showcase the kitchen’s creativity and attention to detail. Diners can indulge in mains like the pressed lamb with courgette and green sauce, and conclude with desserts like the caramelised banana and almond tart. The restaurant’s intimate setting, combined with its culinary offerings, makes it an ideal choice for special occasions or a memorable night out. Caravel is open for dinner from Monday to Saturday, with lunch service available on weekends.
