Cornus

Perched atop Belgravia’s Eccleston Yards, Cornus is a Michelin-starred rooftop restaurant that marries refined Modern British cuisine with a serene, light-filled setting. Founded by David O’Connor and Joe Mercer Nairne—the duo behind Chelsea’s acclaimed Medlar—Cornus brings a fresh perspective to fine dining in Central London. Executive Chef Gary Foulkes, formerly of the Michelin-starred Angler, leads a chef-led kitchen that emphasizes seasonal produce and seafood-focused dishes. The interiors, designed by Day Studio, feature mid-century modern elements, with natural light pouring through skylights by day and golden-hued lighting creating an intimate ambiance by night. The restaurant also boasts a rooftop terrace, offering an elegant setting ideal for special occasions. Critics have lauded Cornus for its exquisite fine dining experience. The Michelin Guide praises the restaurant’s “superb produce” and “restrained approach,” highlighting dishes like the sweet Devon crab and beautifully prepared Newlyn cod. Hot Dinners commends the restaurant’s sophisticated atmosphere and the team’s impeccable service, noting the extensive wine list curated by Wine Director Melania Battiston. The menu features both à la carte and tasting options, with standout dishes such as handpicked Devon crab with Hass avocado and wasabi, and roast Scottish cod with chervil root and line-caught squid. Cornus is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday, sometimes offering seasonal specials like a set lunch menu. Dietary options include gluten-free and vegetarian choices.
